"The US consumes 50 million barrels of oil a day," states TransCanada's Alex Pourbaix at a Climate One event on August 30. "And the question is where do you want that oil to come from?" While the US currently imports oil from multiple countries, Pourbaix points out that Canada has been a good steward of the environment and doesn't understand why the US would choose to import oil from countries that do not share American values.

    Speakers:
Cassie Doyle, Consul General; former Canadian Deputy Minister Natural Resources
Jason Mark, Editor, Earth Island Institute
    Carl Pope, Chairman, Sierra Club
Alex Pourbaix, President of Energy and Oil Pipelines, TransCanada

    Recorded: August 30, 2011
